Liquid explosives on planes? Not very practical.

Here is an enlightening article about the not-so-easy process of creating a viable explosive from a few household ingredients: Mass murder in the skies: was the plot feasible? It makes you wonder if the threat isn't being exaggerated so someone can get some extra appropriations from their taxpayers.

2 months a Vegan and still going

My wife made a pesto sauce yesterday that is the most exquisite thing I've ever tasted. I had tons of false ideas about vegan food before I started eating this way. I've tried many diets - Atkins, South Beach, Blood Type and others - and none of them come anywhere near vegan.

The top ten things food companies don't want you to know

The most popular article on NewsTarget.com, and for good reason, is: The top ten things food companies don't want you to know. Read it and use it to improve your health. Oh, and I also recommend you watch Super Size Me. After seeing that movie you'll never eat fast-food again (unless you are insane or suicidal).

Silver Amalgam (Mercury) Fillings

The insanity of putting Mercury into people's mouths as part of "Silver" Amalgam fillings was brought home to me once again when I heard a news item about a local school. There was an accident in the chemistry lab and some Mercury was spilled. The Hazardous Materials people were called, the entire school was evacuated and 5 kids were taken to hospital because of Mercury exposure.

Now what do you think about having Mercury put into your mouth? Is the American Dental Association lying when they say it is perfectly safe? Is the Swedish government wrong to ban Silver Amalgam (Mercury) fillings?

I'd say ask the Haz-Mat people what they think about Mercury. Then find a dentist who will replace the Mercury with something safe. Here's my dentist: Save Your Teeth.

Florida Weather

A year ago when we told people we'd were moving to Florida, we'd hear about the heat and humidity and how the first summer would be hell, but if we survived it we'd acclimatize for the next year. All I can say is what a bunch of baloney! The weather here is great. The summer is beautiful. So it's hot, so what? So was Southern California. So it's humid, so what? I love the rain and the thunder storms are awesome. The air is clean and the place is full of life and we love it!

The Diet Progresses

It's been another great week of vegan food. I notice that I need to eat less to feel fed. I'm eating far less than when I was on a "normal" diet (better known as "SAD" - Standard American Diet).

I wish I'd done this years ago.

TGN1412 drug trial leaves patient with terminal cancer

If anyone out there has ever considered being part of a clinical drug trial then read this: TGN1412 drug trial leaves patient with terminal cancer. Clinical drug trials are NOT safe, so don't fall for the propaganda. If you take part in one of these trials you are an expendable guinea pig. So don't be fooled.

Oslo, London world's most expensive cities

Interesting report: Oslo, London world's most expensive cities: report. But one paragraph says a lot: "North American workers earn the highest wages, closely followed by Western Europe. But European net earnings are significantly lower because of higher taxes and social security contributions." And I still think I pay too much in taxes! But it's better than the Europeans.

Free Health Program

Here is a great health program you can follow that is totally free. Not only that but people have had tremendous success using it: drmcdougall.com: Free Program.

(Don't tell the food or pharmaceutical industries because they'll throw a fit. A free program? That doesn't have you on an expensive, profit producing drug for the rest of your life? Unthinkable! A program that has you eating food that is not produced by a big multi-billion dollar corporation? Sacrilege!)

The Progress on the Vegan Diet

It's been about 6 or 7 weeks now and we are still going strong on this diet. I am finding that I need to eat less than when I was eating meat and I have ditched additional supplements. I was taking a lot of extra vitamins and supplements, but now I'm just eating the food and doing fine.

Vegan rules!

Protein Overload

Here is a very interesting article on how much protein is eaten in the typical Western diet and how much damage it does: Protein Overload
